Tooleys is a shop piled high with everything you didn’t expect to find in one place. From vapes to ice cream, watch batteries and duck food. It’s worth going in because sometimes you don’t know what you want until you see it.

It’s on Granby Street in Loughborough. It’s opposite the the municipal carpark on your way from the town centre to the Library and Queens Park.

For years this place was a menswear shop. A middle-aged to old men menswear shop. Good quality stuff but a little behind the times. Just a little. Enough to notice but not enough to make it strangely attractive to the young.

I went in Tooleys the other day. I bought dog chews. I have a cat.

Such is its charm.
