It’s 25 degrees Celsius and humid in the Arboretum, a green lung in central Nottingham. We walk up the hill and are met by a man sat reading a book, wearing a woolly hat and an waterproof jacket, an anorak. He looks up and greets us with:
“Afternoon! Warmer today but could do with a little more sunshine! It’s forecast for tomorrow they say.”
A few pleasantries pass between us and then we are off again. Up and out of the park and then further up the hill towards the old cemetery. He carries on reading and I dare say talking to everyone else that passes him by.
