“And thou shalt be the first of witches known” — Flames by Venus Aphrodite

From the start Flames by Venus Aphrodite hits you sonically and lyrically like an electric shock. It continues to send tingles through mind and body as it builds layer after layer. It is full of clicks and spits of sound that many of today’s producers would try to filter out but that’s not the way of New Reality Records where many recordings include ‘as is’ sound tracks recorded in the field straight onto then off a mobile phone straight into an album or single track.

Burn the Water has an interview with Maria, the Brazilian born and based performance artist that is VA, Venus Aphrodite and much more, coming up soon and we promise to probe her on the origins and meanings of Flames and what we can expect next from her. Until then take a long listen to Flames and lose yourself between its sheets of sound and meaning.
