Exile in the Kingdom

Rab Harling’s current show at Cable Depot is, like all other shows, under lockdown. It documents a young Ash tree with Ash dieback over five years. I performed Poetry in Exile here live on Instagram from our living room on the 21st March 2020. We see parallels between the viral decimation of the UK ash tree population and the current covid-19 pandemic in humans and perhaps the social virus of property development, gentrification and the social cleansing associated with it.
