Each Marble Step

a fresh faced student
tells me all about context
a spring gale blowing
for each marble step
a different colour

Gavin Wade & Paul Conneally

From the ongoing series of tantwenga poems – tanrenga written via Twitter.

Notes

This tantwenga poem starts with the haiku:

a fresh faced student
tells me all about context
a spring gale blowing

which first appears in the haibun ‘Landed’. This was then shared on Twitter with the hashtag #tantwenga which is the invite tag between Paul and Gavin to respond to or ‘cap’ the verse with two lines via the process of link and shift. The response comes:

for each marble step
a different colour

and we have our tantwenga!
