This is a small handmade wooden house by the side of the road in Woodhouse, Leicestershire. It’s not locked and opens up to reveal books which you can take away and read. You’re invited to put books in it too for others to read. It’s been made by the guides in Woodhouse Eaves – well done!
With the government cutting public funds and local authorities deciding to close public libraries citing the cuts as the reason this could be the future for free libraries. It’s a great idea that can run happily alongside the heritage that is our public library system… a system that is more and more under threat.. we need to take action now!
SAVE OUR LIBRARIES!
