The Summit

I watched it go up
over a period of
around a year

first the frame
a metal skeleton
built to full height

I hated it slowly
taking over the skyline
down by Liberty Island

I insulted it
every match day walking
to the King Power Stadium

the living units
fully fitted pods lifted
and slotted into the frame

a modular skyscraper
low in world terms but
too big for where it is

after a pint
in the Boxing Day sun
a megalith
