‘A Line In The Grass’

We have become or are becoming used to finding out that what often appear ‘public spaces’ are in fact ‘pseudo public spaces’ owned and securitised by private companies. These are most usually associated with the city but in fact can be found almost anywhere.
This sign is in a ‘ribbon park’ funded via a Section 106 planning requirement via Charnwood Borough Council. It is possible that the land is still awaiting ‘adoption’ which often takes an inordinate length of time. There is no mention on the sign of who is asserting that this is ‘PRIVATE LAND’ or who owns the land.
