what about stars?
burning bright then gone
held together pulling tight
but never staying long
the brightest stars
are those that break
hearts that give but never take
what about stars?
names that light the sky
seen for a moment shining strong
then fading out of sight
the brightest stars
are those that break
hearts that give but never take
they shine they shine
they mesmerise
but gravity won’t let them stay
stripped down reduced remade
falling into something new
the brightest stars
are those that break
hearts that give but never take
what about stars?
they don’t ask to be remembered
don’t care if you name them
they just burn

Hello, Paul. What a poetic-musical tradition of subject and matter your poem brings with it! (Keats et al); And still it sings on its own, of its own, a roundelay (rondelet, rondeau) that shines!
Thank you,
Donna
