‘A Day At The Pool’

Remember how it was? A day at the swimming pool? I haven’t been to a swimming pool inside or out except the for the hotel pool when on holiday for years. Longley Park Pool was the one I used to go to as a child, a teenager. It was an outside pool and was run by Sheffield Council. It ran ‘session’ denoted by the coloured rubber band they gave you to wear around your ankle or your wrist. They used to shout out over the tannoy the colour of the group band that had to leave as their swimming session came to an end.
