He loves wild cats as well as the domesticated, though in truth it’s the cats that domesticate us to their wants more than the other way around.

Their markings are very much like our tabby cat’s. Right now she’s not being very wild. Fast asleep on the settee. She spends most of the day this way only to wake up at dusk and go hunting for mice outside which she brings home, usually alive. They pretend to be dead then jump up and run around the room. I’ve become adept at catching them. The feel of their fast beating heart in my hand. I never kill them. I lock the cat in and return them to the garden. I wouldn’t mind this cat’s jacket.
